1983 Mack 1250 gpm Pumper

Engine 52-3, our 1989 E-One pumper with a diesel engine, automatic transmission, and air brakes, has a 1,250 gpm Hale 2-stage pump and a 750-gallon water tank. It carries 1,200’ of 5” supply hose, 400’ of 3” supply hose, 200’ of 2½” hose in a dead load, a 150’ 2½” preconnected attack line, a 200’ 1¾” preconnected attack line, and a 150’ 1¾” preconnected attack line. The apparatus is equipped with a 250 gpm Mercury monitor, a 1,000 gpm master stream appliance, and foam application equipment. Additional equipment includes 48’ of aluminum ground ladders, 5 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with spare air cylinders, a diesel electric generator with on-board outlets, and portable scene lighting. The cab, which seats 4, contains a tablet with dispatch information and hydrant maps, a thermal imaging camera, multi-gas meters, leak detectors, an automated external defibrillator (AED), 2 UHF mobile radios and 2 portable radios. The ’89 E-One remains in service and, after 32 years of service, is scheduled for replacement this year.
